Local Rip-off Report --- Jacks Towing

This company is a unlawfully towing cars! A car was recently towed despite proper parking decals. They claimed, "It was not visible, so a fine for improper display will be applied." Threats to contact the BBB, Attorney General, police department,  and the local news was made. The very rude dispatcher refused to offer her name or employee number to protect her identity (and possibly reduce the risk of getting fired!)

The dispatcher decided to take her time to contact a driver to escort the owner to its car, so the owner and his or her friend had to wait 30 minutes at 3:30 AM in a dark back street in the cold. Despite telling the dispatcher we were less than 5 minutes away and there was a family emergency, she refused to make the call. She actually would not call until she saw some headlights in the camera.

The owner provided proof that the decal was in fact located in the car. The tow truck driver apologized and said he wishes he could remove all charges. He also stated, "That [dispatcher] lady is a bitch" He informed the owner of the towed car, his or her friend, and the police man how to report her because she treats all customers in this manner.

After reviewing their website at www.jackstowing.com I learned that not only are they ripping people off by unlawfully towing their cars, but also auctioning these cars quite frequently! Do they make an attempt to locate the owner? How many people are not aware of their car's whereabouts? This company only accepts cash and it  must be PAID IN FULL prior to taking the car. There should be other options. Our economy is not so great. Many people are out of a job, or working many low paying part-time jobs just to make ends meet. This company should focus on customer service and have some heart toward their community. Instead, they are money hungry and selfish. Figures why they have so many facilities within close vicinities. This company is a disgrace and should re-evaluate its core competency.

This story is the honest truth because it happened to me last night.
